PRESERVING AUTHENTICITY THROUGH VERIFIABLE DATA.
The Miniature Cattle Registry was established to replace self-reported claims with objective genomic verification, immutable lineage tracking, and strict age-gated mature hip measurements.
IDENTITY FIRST
Every animal receives permanent genomic identity via accredited laboratory DNA profiling before parentage or mature size can be considered.
EARNED SIZE
No animal is certified as Miniature or Micro before 36 months of age. Juvenile stature is never accepted as proof of mature classification.
OPEN TRANSPARENCY
Parentage qualifications, Chondrodysplasia carrier status, and measurement inspection histories are permanently visible in the public herdbook.
WHY AN INDEPENDENT REGISTRY MATTERS
For decades, miniature cattle breeding relied largely on paper pedigree claims with minimal independent validation. Calves were frequently marketed with estimated adult heights that proved inaccurate once skeletal maturity was reached.
This platform provides breeders and buyers with an auditable source of truth. By separating physical phenotype (such as HighPark coloration) from genetic classification and establishing a 3-year maturity requirement, the registry safeguards bloodline heritage and buyer trust.
IMMUTABLE AUDIT TRAIL
Administrative updates, parentage links, and measurement entries are logged with cryptographic audit records to prevent unauthorized record alteration.
ACCREDITED LAB INTEGRATION
Genomic case numbers and parentage exclusions are validated against accredited testing facilities, including UC Davis VGL and Neogen GeneSeek.
STRICT TOPLINE PROTOCOL
Measurements must be conducted on hard, level platforms at the highest point of the hip, accompanied by verifiable photo or video device evidence.
PROVISIONAL PROTECTION
Young stock remain provisional until 3 years of age, ensuring unverified juvenile heights cannot be advertised as permanent mature dimensions.
