Height is measured at the withers (top of the shoulder). The single biggest lever on final size is the chondro (mini-dwarfism) gene — each copy pulls mature height down.
- Non-chondro: smaller than standard, but the tallest of the minis.
- One copy (chondro-positive): a distinctly shorter, compact frame.
- Two copies (homozygous): not bred — carries serious health risk.
